A Little Effort
“He who is faithful in a very little… is faithful also in much, and he who is dishonest and unjust in a very little…is dishonest and unjust also in much.” Luke 16:10
Making a good habit may take some effort. but once a good habit is formed there is very little effort needed to carry out that project.
I always take my cart back to where it belongs after grocery shopping without even thinking about it. I park in an easy to find parking spot far from the store so I can walk a few extra steps to the store and back again. I have taken my cart back so many times that it takes very little effort to put it where it belongs, it is second nature. This is a very small thing but I believe it is a curtesey to the grocery store workers.
Recently I passed a young man half way from my car to the cart coral. After emptying his cart he pushed it across the lane into a pile of carts that were not in their proper place but in a parking spot. He only had to take a few extra steps and exert the least amount of effort to put his cart where it belonged. It made me wonder about him and the other people who chose not to do the smallest right thing. Maybe that was a display of not being faithful in the least of things.
