“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
“But God” is a phrase or important concept used verbatim or is implied from the Book of Genesis to the Book of Revelation in the Holy Bible. It is a dramatic powerful phrase. It is used usually to show God’s power, sovereignty, and majesty. It points to who God is.
“But God” is a just God, who is merciful, forgiving, and the One who conquers evil.
“But God” is a protector, creator of miracles, and can create loving children of God.
The “But God” phrase reminds us of His faithfulness, and that He redirects our steps when we need redirection, and that He intervenes in our lives.
“But God” provides the plan of rescue and redemption. The ultimate

The multi-seasonal television series called the Chosen about the life of Jesus has the actress who plays Mary Magdalene say a line to the actor who plays Nicodemus with a “But God” concept implied. These words were put on t-shirts in the shape of a cross:
