In Times Like This, Be Bold

History is full of stories of bold people doing bold things. A rhetorical question asks if the time makes the person or does the person make the times? Bold people and their tasks are remembered down through the ages.

One can be bold for the greater good or for the greater evil. In every area of life there are bold people we commemorate or vilify.

It takes boldness to be a champion whether you are talking about sports, politics, religions, communications, entertainments or any other aspect of life. God did not make His people to be timid but to be bold, confident.

Christians are called to be bold, not timid, in every area of their lives; to be bold for the Lord, to be bold in their prayers, to be bold wherever God places them; to be confident in the Lord.

Right now in our society we see bold people standing up for what they believe. They may be losing their jobs or getting “canceled” but they are bold where God has placed them. They are standing up against the “new normal.” They are fighting for their and our freedoms. They are standing up for their children or their personal beliefs even if they have to go to jail.

It takes a bold person to stand up to an injustice. Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King Jr., the Pope are among many who have spoken boldly about a wrong they have observed. In World War I…
