REJOICING All THE TIME
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again. Rejoice!” Philippians 4:4
Everyone is going through a trial, coming out of a trial, or will soon be in a trial. No matter where you are in life or what trial you might be in you can rejoice.
This Bible verse above was part of a joy-filled thank you letter that the Apostle Paul had written to his friends at the church at Philippi while he was under house arrest in Rome. The Philippians had supported his ministry financially.
This letter written by Paul is filled with truths. Paul wanted these truths to penetrate the Philippines’ hearts. Truths like, nothing can stamp out the joy they have in Jesus. A truth that can penetrate your heart.
Paul declares that his wanting to know Christ and the power of His resurrection, and to share in Christ’s suffering, becoming like Him in His death, and attaining to the resurrection from the dead, was his life’s driving ambition. Paul had spent over twenty years devoted to Christ’s service. Paul said he learned to be content in all circumstances. He lived through many trials and sufferings.
Besides being shipwrecked more than one time and being abandoned, Paul spent most of his later years in prison. From his confinement he wrote his famous letters to the churches he had founded. We are so blessed and fortunate to read and study Paul’s…
